One interesting thing. Since pretty everything about animation is good I decided to start reading novel and it is quite a surprise. Animation doesn't really follow the novel at all. Even event progress is shuffled and MC is actually reincarnator from a world where he trained martial arts without success. his master found inheritance, but world simply does not support cultivation. the seed is also part of that inheritance from former life where it was completely useless

Novel progress. Reincarnation (old life), killed by 6th prince and Su patriarch, MC realizes his spiritual seed was cut off by someone when he was infant, awakens spiritual seed by combining it with seed from former life to heal the cutoff and has challenge from Wang family member, Zhou Shan beats Su Huang, breaks his arms and defeats his cronies, meets merchant Tai (who is fat and funny as hell in novel), win against Wang Kuns cronie and also winning bet,1 month training, academy exam (both him and Zhou Shan beat 10 drums and no more), gets things his father left (sword, eye skill and space ring), beast attack which opens that trial ground, going to trial, being ambushed by 6th prince and 20+ people (win with some enemies escaping, but being trapped in formation with Zhou Shan), Su cronies lead beast horde to attack them while trapped, kill out, fighting little prince and cronies (win), attacked by Su/Wang death squad which ends by winning with help of 6 (spies? from old Wang patriarch), fight is avoided but that still ends in MC killing Su Huang, attacked alone by Su Muyi and 6th prince (survives by escaping into the fog), gets inheritance of general under Ye, finds Tai and sister (Zhou Shan is absent), gets the box and stick underwater, after surfacing they are surrounded by Su Muyi, 6th prince and 30 or so people, they start losing until Zhou Shan returns after who turns around situation, funny event as hell where everyone blackmails little dragon (each winning something. MC contract, Tai promised heart when it is found, Zhou Shan dragon stick, poor dragon... well, poor guy is constantly threatened with various recipes and ways to make money from his suffering... gets nothing but soul shackle) return from trials, (NOT YET) accusing Su family using death squad on trials (no clue how this will be in animation as it never happened there), Wang patriarch removed by old partiarh because of trying to steal 3 treasures and death squad event, MC learns some things about father, 6th+little prince trying to save Su family by pinning crime on him (they fail), Su family convicted even sooner because when convicting MC fails he overturns same trial into Su demise. This pretty much concludes the events shown so far

MC which is here complete fighting badass, is completely different kind of badass. Not as strong (lots of fights are won by Zhou Shan and not MC, also at the point here Zhou Shan is quite a bit stronger than him or MC escaping to survive more than few times), smarter. he is extremely wordy with sharp tongue and constant witty insults (poor Su Muyi and 6th prince, constantly being called names like prostitute in public). it is like he needs to insult everyone who is even a little against him. Also, at this point in novel he killed around 50 ppl and Zhou Shan even more, but quite a few times he is forced to escape.

Also, it is really rare you can see changes to original that really work. The way animation changed the story is far more suitable to have action and talk fit into short episodes while novel has more constant readable progress. Had they followed novel, there would be always either few episodes of fighting or few episodes of talking. If there is one point that is missing is bickering between his ?master? and MC. Those are funny as hell. Money grubbing sleazebag arguing with stingy MC whose main sport is throwing insults

Damn though, they're some killing machines, would be called serial killers if not for it was probably in self defense. But if the MC's a "prince" why are people able to insult him and even try to kill him so much without repercussions??
